Jyotish, commonly known in the West today as Vedic astrology is one of the original exterior of the physical sciences, as well as the most important “internal” science because it deals with the inner mind and soul travel. The planets represent the laws of time and astrology shows the basic language of cosmic energy.
Jyotish is the science of chance, or fate, therefore, the understanding of events on earth and for individuals to developments in their lives. Considers man as a microcosm, an indivisible part of the macrocosm of the universe and is a spiritual science based on the science of transmigration of souls. Therefore, a horoscope display the karma that you bring to this life in births, the spiritual path has been followed and the ultimate goal must meet in order to transcend the limits of this material world.
A horoscope shows the psycho-physical nature of a person and indicates their potential in all areas of life. This includes your career and means of economic development, relationships (both civil and otherwise), physical and emotional health and karmic balance of enjoyment and suffering that must come in due time. Even a person’s ability to perform austerities for spiritual growth and ability to perform sadhana or spiritual practice, be seen in the birth horoscope.
Armed with such knowledge becomes a person better prepared to be objective in their direction, accepting both the inherent strengths and weaknesses and use their strengths to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of life. Measures to be taken may include the use of jewelry or yantras (sacred geometric diagrams) and yet is even more important may include meditation, chanting of mantras and the development of the determination through positive thinking to be disciplined in order to achieve goals in both the material and spiritual spheres of life.
The understanding of our true selves, we can then use our lives in a positive way towards the end of achievement for all Vedic knowledge ultimately points to one thing, which is “Atma Vidya” or self-knowledge.
Ayurveda is the branch of Vedic science that deals with the physical body’s health. Includes recipe for proper diet, body work and surgery, but equally important include psychology and spirituality. As a science of the Vedas is also “Atma Vidya” as the goal of human existence.
The disease can arise from one of two causes. First are physical or biological (an imbalance of humors, elements and the main energies of the body), and are generally treated with herbs, diet, body work and specific yoga postures suitable for an individual. In more extreme cases and minerals of drugs and medicines, surgery may be necessary.
The second cause of the disease is karmic. There can be psychological or spiritual causes and can be seen that these professionals are manifested in emotional problems and also create great difficulties for a person of relationships with others. Treatment may require a change in lifestyle and attitude, and some of those measures prescribed in jyotish such as jewelry, mantra or yantra.
Often a lack of faith can be the cause of many common diseases and this is also considered as a lack of love, even to oneself. Recognizing that one must follow a spiritual path at least to some extent is essential for the healing of the mind and body completely, which speak of the inner consciousness.
The essence of healing is integration. Faith, love, a sense of unity and recognizing the sanctity of humanity and all life forms is what is missing in modern medicine. To set the right pace of life has to be a creative life, a harmony of self with the universe and the cosmic force of life. Ayurveda is to establish the harmony between body, mind and spirit and thus make possible the balance and overall health of your being.
